Tethering apps 'blocked' in Android Market

Android’s impossibly fast adoption since its debut isn’t due to just a single feature or element. It’s the concoction that Google created in their popular mobile operating system that has people clamoring to get their hands on it. Consumers and manufacturers have chosen Android and made it one of the most popular platforms available, with no signs of it slowing down any time soon. Not surprising, Android’s openness is one of those features that people enjoy. Additionally, there’s the Android Market: a place where folks can find many apps to help in their day-to-day tasks, without carrier or manufacturer intervention. But it looks like those days are quickly coming to a close, at least for those under AT&T and Verizon’s banner.
It’s no secret that there are applications available in the Android Market that bypass certain carrier restrictions. We are talking about tethering applications. These apps are meant to make it easy for consumers to connect their phone to an external device, like a laptop or gaming console, and use their phone as an access point. Both AT&T and Verizon have tethering plans specifically for these phones, and obviously feel like their plans are good enough for the average user to use.
To stop the tethering services, dominant of wireless has been charging extra amount such as 15 dollar, 20 dollar or even 30 dollar for using such services. Thus, by making tethering application unavailable or blocking from the Android server.

Android Apps, Launched by CNN

CNN has announced that its CNN App for Android’s is available for free on Android Market in the U.S.  The CNN App launches in conjunction with the commercial availability of the Android 3.0, Honeycomb platform on the Motorola Xoom tablet, which is the first time that CNN iReport, the network’s user-generated news community, is available in a tablet application.
The app is designed for Android powered phones running on platforms 2.1 and above. Content includes both international and domestic news in text, audio, photos and live and on-demand video as well as a direct link to CNN iReport, the network's participatory news community and audio content from CNN Radio.
According to Louis Gump, vice president of Mobile at CNN, "Android users are extremely discerning, and will accept nothing less than a first-rate app that showcases high quality, world-class content - and enables them to share it,"  He further says, "We built the CNN App with these desires specifically in mind, and are excited to offer the millions of Android phone users around the world with access to CNN's global reporting."
Users have the ability to toggle between U.S. and International news preferences, both of which serve live video of breaking news and select events as they happen, as well as hourly audio news updates from CNN Radio while in the U.S. view.
The App includes the ability for users to comment alongside content on the screen or share text stories and images from the App via email, Facebook and Twitter.  Users can also flip through story headlines and images directly on their home screen by accessing the App’s layered image widget.
